How this started

I’m from Southern Maryland. I was born on Pax River Naval Air Station, grew up in St. Mary’s County, played football at Leonardtown High School, and later at Frostburg State. This is not just where I work. It’s home.

Like most loan officers, I did not grow up wanting to be in mortgage lending. Honestly, I did not even know what a mortgage lender was. I stumbled into this business at an engagement party, of all places. My best friend’s dad asked if I wanted to learn mortgages. I said yes, showed up Monday at 9am, and by the end of that first week I was handed a blank Good Faith Estimate and a list of refinance calls.

That is when I realized something troubling. This industry, centered around the largest debt most families will ever take on, was built to be transactional and rate-focused. Once I saw the long-term damage that can come from a “great rate” paired with the wrong strategy, I could not unsee it. That is when this stopped being a job and became a responsibility.

My purpose is simple: help people make mortgage decisions they still feel good about years down the road.
